Donia Lilly Receives Juror's Merit Award

 Blue VI

Donia had two paintings accepted into the Pastel Artists of Hawaii 10th Annual Open Juried Show, with one of her paintings – Blue VI, a mixed media work of art from her Evocations series – receiving a Juror’s Merit award. The art exhibition can be viewed from October 7th until November 1st, 2013 at the Honolulu Museum of Art School Gallery (located at 1111 Victoria St., Honolulu, HI).

The juror of this year’s show – Elizabeth Mowry – is known for her “poetic” landscapes. She is a Master Pastelist of the Pastel Society of America and a Distinguished Pastelist in the Pastel Society of the West Coast on whose Board of Advisors she serves. She is also on the Board of Directors of the International Association of Pastel Societies.

This is Donia’s third award in the four Pastel Artists of Hawaii exhibitions she has entered. Her mixed media piece “Rembrandt’s Working Man” received Best in Show at the Members’ Show in 2012.
